If anything, the events of my life are proof that not all of my concerns have changed and that most of my convictions have only grown stronger. I still believe in the resilience of the human heart and the essential validity of love; I still believe that connections between people can be made and that the spirits which inhabit us sometimes touch. I still believe that the cost of those connections is horribly, outrageously high, but I also believe that the value received far outweighs the price which must be paid. I know that they are old-fashioned beliefs and concerns, but I would be a liar if I didn't admit that I still own them, and that they still own me. That said, you also need to know that I'm a shallow fuck who, if you've got an amazing body, is probably standing nearby wondering what it would be like to pull out and make a map of Hawaii on your back.
